Contractors Institute is an authorized testing center for BPI-IDL Certification. Although BPI does not require training prior to attempting certification. individuals typically perform better on the BPI IDL exam after completing the specialized education & hands on training offered through the CI Certified CI-BDT (Blower Door Technician) program.
The BPI-IDL exam consists of three main components relating to Air Infiltration and Duct Leakage: whole house air infiltration verification & testing, total air distribution system leakage and air distribution leakage to the outside. All specific to new residential construction.
The testing portion of the certification for BPI-IDL is held exclusively at Contractors Institute Learning Center on the West Coast of Florida in Pasco County, Hudson. Our fully equipped testing facility utilizes Retrotec equipment and offers a one-stop shop for complete Infiltration and Duct Leakage Certification. A passing mark of 85% is required for successful certification.
